About
Jake and his wife, Honah, both grew up in missionary families and have a heart for serving the international community overseas. Born in Canada and raised in the United States, Jake’s first international job was teaching English in Korea (2001). He then pursued further training in education, eventually earning his Master of Education from George Mason University in International Elementary Education (2005). He taught 4th grade in Mexico City, Mexico (2002-2003) and then in Montevideo, Uruguay (2003-2007). Desiring to work on deeper levels with international students and their families, Jake returned to the United States to earn a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College (2010). His clinical experience includes working in a community mental health setting for three years and a residential treatment center as a family therapist for a year-and-a-half, working with Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse, Mood & Personality Disorders, as well as Trauma. Jake and his wife have three children and are delighted to be living and working in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
